Annual Gem & Mineral Show

The Payson Rimstones Rock Club hosted its 2022 Annual Gem & Mineral Show September 16th through 18th at the Mazatzal Hotel and Casino Event Center, on HWY 87 at mile marker 251, Payson AZ.

Vendors: Gems, minerals, fossils, specimens, jewelry, cabochons, slabs that are rough or polished, and other rock-related art.

Education Center: We offered a Spinning Wheel (where everyone wins a rock), a magnificent fluorescent mineral display, a free Treasure Hunt for junior rock collectors, sandstone/rock painting, and much more. There were educational materials to take home, as well as a table for “Ask the Geologist” who identified mystery rocks and fossils.

Auctions, Raffles and Door Prizes: Our show had an end-of-show raffle, a silent auction ending every 30 minutes and hourly door prizes.

Demonstrations: We had daily demonstrations by artists who make jewelry and do wire-wrapping. Demonstrations were planned throughout the weekend. (Click images below to view a larger version)

All our proceeds go toward supporting scholarships for graduating Payson High School seniors and students in Northern Gila County. Other funds go to local elementary schools and public libraries for books and other educational materials. The Payson Rimstones Rock Club, Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

Annual Spring Rock Show

The Payson Rimstones Rock Club also holds an annual spring rock show in a Payson-area shopping center parking lot. The 2022 show occurred on May 14th in the east parking lot by Big Lots on Highway 260 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This was an outdoor event. All were invited to come see what we and our vendors had for sale. Proceeds support STEM scholarships for graduating Payson High School students and students who are residents of Northern Gila County attending a college of their choice, as well as books and educational materials for the local elementary schools and public libraries.
