Where and When We Meet
Monthly meetings are on the 1st Wednesday of each month, at the Payson Public Library, 328 N McLane Rd, Payson, AZ 85541.
The Board meets every other month at 2pm and the General meeting starts monthly at 3:30pm.
What To Expect at Rock Club Meetings
Each meeting of the Payson Rimstones Rock Club includes a presentation or demonstration related to our mutual interest in rocks and minerals. Later members share rock-related items that they have brought just because they are unique, or so they can find out what experts in the group know about their find. Members and supporters donate other items to the raffle and silent auction tables. Winners get to choose their favorites from the table and the proceeds go toward providing scholarships to deserving college-bound students.
Expert Presentations
Our Club is fortunate to be able to draw on a wide variety of experts in fields related to geology and earth sciences. Our active membership includes retired geologists, engineers, Forest Service managers and a paleontologist, among others!
In the past year, our experts educated and entertained Club members with videos and slide shows about the Geology of Gila County, Rim Country fossils, rock/mineral cleaning and preservation, fluorescent rocks and minerals, to name just a few!
The Club Board members continue to identify timely and informative presentations/demonstrations. Monthly Presentation List
